Our Commitment
Due to a brutal history of colonialism, exploitation, and marginalization, Congo continues to grapple with deep-rooted challenges like political instability, armed conflict, and widespread poverty. Despite the nation’s abundant natural wealth, over 70% of the population lives in extreme poverty, while a small portion enjoys access to wealth and the opportunity for a life of well-being.
At Lobiko, we are committed to addressing these challenges not by investing in projects but by investing in people and communities to create sustainable change. Instead of providing services directly, we partner with individuals and communities leading efforts to support vulnerable children, youth, and adults in extreme poverty in Congo. Through this people-centered approach, we collaborate with those on the ground to transform their communities and support their success despite a legacy of exploitation and hardship.
Our Story
The work of Lobiko builds on the proven experience, lessons learned, and past successes of CongoVoice, an organization that operated in the region from 2012 to 2019. Our founder, a former board member of CongoVoice who has led numerous initiatives in Congo, established Lobiko to continue this impactful work. With a revised mission and strategy, Lobiko is dedicated to creating transformational change, leveraging both lessons learned and past successes to achieve an even greater impact in the region.
Children’s well-being directly contributes to their communities’ social, economic, and cultural fabric. As they grow, they become the architects of a better future, and their success is intricately interwoven with the progress of the places they call home.

We live in a world where technological advancement, medical breakthroughs, and various innovations have improved many lives. Yet, millions of people continue to experience harsh (often unimaginable) living conditions due to violence and poverty.
In Congo, where war and oppression have taken over 6 million lives, the cycle of violence and poverty continues to undermine millions of people's wellbeing.
